She was proceeded in death by her parents, Maynard and Mary Ann Donaldson, her husband, Dr. John E. Aldrich and their beloved daughter, Cindy Aldrich Tanner.
She is survived by her devoted partner of 24 years, Al Fulford, along with her daughter Patti (Don) Sharpe, her sons, John (Misty) Aldrich and Bruce (Staci) Aldrich, 8 adored grandchildren, Dan Sharpe, Spencer Aldrich, Brooke Forster, Adam Aldrich, Alex Aldrich, Ted Aldrich, Mimi Aldrich, Lindsey Aldrich, who lovingly referred to her as Nanny, and 10 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Dick Donaldson and his family, sister-in-law Connie Bodiker and niece Amy (Jeremy) Baskes.
A graduate of Bexley High School, she attended Northwestern University and the Ohio State University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. A lifelong member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church and Columbus Country Club, she volunteered with Junior League of Columbus, Golden Hobby Shop (30 years!), Pleasure Guild of Children's Hospital, and served as President of both The Childhood League Center, and the Columbus Home for Aged. She, along with business partner Sue Altmaier, owned Sue-Ann Tag Sales for over 25 years. Anyone who attended any of her sales knows about her energy and enthusiasm. She was a force of nature.
She enjoyed a vigorous social life, loved her weekly card games, and leaves behind many dear friends including close friends from her and Al’s days on the Florida coast. She is grateful for the many happy memories.
The family wishes to thank Mt. Carmel Hospice as well as Kelly of Comfort Keepers for their support and care.
The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life reception at Columbus Country Club, 4831 E. Broad St., Columbus, on Saturday, December 28 from 2- 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice. More importantly, her wish was that each day you do a kindness for someone else.
