He is survived by his loving wife Jean; son, Albert J. (Carla) Bell; daughter, Kathleen (Dennis) Greco; grandchildren, Brian (Brooke), Phillip, Kristin, and great granddaughter Corinne; sister, Betty Ann Kleinhenz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by son Paul; brothers, Dan and John; sisters, Barbara, Rosemary and Dorothy.
Al retired as General Counsel to the Ohio State Bar Association, was a former Common Pleas judge, and served his country in the Korean War. He attended St Charles Preparatory School, The Ohio State University, and OSU Law School. Al was a devoted family man who loved the Buckeyes, boating and golf. As "Chief Nut" he led the Buckeye Nuts bus trip to away OSU football games for 30 years, and once said his favorite song was the Star-Spangled Banner because that meant the OSU football game was about to start! He was a past officer in the U.S. Power Squadron, and a life member of the Shamrock Club and OSU Alumni Association.
There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
This summer his family will host an Irish Wake celebration of life for his big, beautiful family and treasured friends. Services entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus.
