Doloris V. McDaniel, 88, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Franklin Meadows. She was born November 15, 1936, in Columbus, to Roy L. and Mary E. (Sprague) Dooley. They preceded her in death.
Doloris was a homemaker who loved her family deeply. In her later years she was also a nanny to several children. She was a Christian and member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Morgantown. Doloris loved to travel. She especially enjoyed camping and her many trips to Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elden D. McDaniel, Sr.; brother, Dan Dooley; daughter-in-law, Armetta McDaniel; and grandson, Michael McDaniel.
Doloris is survived by her loving children, Elden Duane McDaniel, Jr. of Martinsville, Susan (Tim) Lucas of Greensburg, Chris (Vonda) McDaniel of Leesburg, FL, and Jane (Richard) Nichols of Columbus; her siblings, Don Dooley, June Serra, David Dooley, Dale Dooley, Doris Walters, and Dorothy Dooley. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, at Myers-Reed Chapel with Brother Rodger Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday, also at the funeral home.
