Betty was retired from Arvin Industries, where she was a keypunch operator for many years. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and being a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street, with Dr. William Griffith officiating. Calling will be from 3 p.m. until service time. In keeping with Betty's wishes, cremation is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Beech Grove on March 6, 1931, Betty was the daughter of Samuel J. and Ruby Mae Jones Brawner. She married William Stoddard, who preceded her in death, on Aug. 30, 1960, in Greenwood.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat (Gary) Burton of Columbus; a son, Matt Stoddard of Sacramento, Calif.; a step-daughter, Kathy (Jim) Kenny of Torrance, Calif.; grandchildren Colyn Maudlin of Edinburgh, William Stoddard, Lyndsey Burton, Matthew Stoddard Jr. and Kayla Stoddard; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1975, four sisters and a grandson, Johnathan Stoddard in 2009.
