Wiley Douglas "Sammy" Williams, Sr.

Funeral services for Sammy will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 10:00 A.M., Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery with Jerry Stone officiating . A visitation was held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus.

Sammy was born September 24, 1936 in Dothan, Alabama his parents were Pearly Mae Cobb Williams and Willis Windham Williams. He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed being in the outdoors. Sammy was a contractor by trade, he owned and operated a hardware store in Ellerslie. Sammy is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Virginia J. Williams.

He is survived by his sons, Wiley D. Williams, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Kenneth E. Williams and Sammy W. Williams; grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Dewayne Williams, Lacey Williams, Samantha Williams, Savannah Williams, J.J. Williams and Katelyn Williams; great-grandchildren, Averie Williams, Shariah “Sue” Jones and Tayler Lee Willliams; Sisters, Jeanette Hudson, Maggie Ann Yancey, Gloria Jean Hume and her husband Gary; Brother, G.H. “Bubba” Williams; nephews, Jerome Williams, Jimmy Williams, Danny Williams and David Williams.
