Wanda Joyce Sweeney

Wanda was born on December 14, 1959 in Columbus, Georgia to Martha and Marvin Garner. She was an Account Relations Manager with AFLAC and retired after 27 years. She enjoyed reading, riding around house shopping or going to yard sales, but most importantly she loved her grandkids.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, James Sweeney; her children, Toni Elliott and Tripp Sweeney (Portia); her grandchildren, Kaleb, Kinsley, Alexandrea (Boo), Trent, and Maddison; her sisters, Sherry Fretwell (Rodney), Julie Morris (Darrell), Angie Waldon, and Diane Utley; and her brother, Mike Garner. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Marvin Garner.

A visitation will be held for friends and family on Sunday, October 13. 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. The family will be receiving guests following the service for fellowship at Bethel Tabernacle, 5410 Thompson Ave, Columbus, Georgia 31904.
