Valerie Lois Babish

Ms. Babish was born September 6, 1933 in Gainesville, GA. She was the daughter of Arthella Newton Wilson and Ruth Carver Wilson. Ms. Babish was a member of Kirkland Baptist Church. She loved to travel and hosted tours to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She had a vivacious personality and loved going to the casino with her sisters and family. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker.

Ms. Babish was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank R. Babish, her mother, father, and all siblings Aaron Wilson, Glennis Dyer, Carolyn Parker, and Priscilla Graybill, and one grandson, Kenneth J. Farless. Her survivors include one daughter, Lydia Ashmore (Alan), two sons Joseph Farless (Susie) and Timothy Farless (Rita), eight grandchildren Martha DeBice (Phillip), Rachael Senette (Kyle), Rebecca Harmon (Joe), Kevin Farless, Alan Leary, Joni Strickland (Kevin), Tracy Settles (Eric), and Meredith Studds (Mike), and 11 great-grandchildren Blake DeBice, Kathryn DeBice, Caden Senette (Laney), Cassidy Senette, Grace Senette, Riley Senette, Caleb Harmon, Camden Harmon, Caitlyn Harmon, Elim Leary and Aislyn Leary, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, Georgia. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
