SSG (Ret) Spencer Hall, Jr. February 23, 1946- December 27, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- SSG (Ret) Spencer Robert Hall, Jr., 69, of Columbus, GA passed away December 27, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:30 AM in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby with the Honorable Judge Richard Brown officiating. The family will receive friends after the service with a reception. A private burial will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Mr. Hall, son of the late Queen Esther Jordan and Spencer Robert Hall, Sr., was born February 23, 1946 in St. Louis, MO. He served his country honorably for 24 years in the U.S. Army as a Medic with two tours in the Vietnam Era Conflict. Mr. Hall loved spending time with his family, watching western movies, talking, cooking and reading. He took classes in Automotive Technology at Columbus Technical College where he enjoyed working on cars. Mr. Hall liked listening to jazz music. He was a member of Soka Gakkia International (SGI-USA) and Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Yang Hall of Columbus, GA; children Mi Yong Hall-Hosino (John) of Layton, UT., Rita Hall of Phenix City, AL., and Esther Hall of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Johnathan Hall, Justin Hosino, Joy Hall-Burt, Madison Hosino and Jackson Hosino; sister Ruetha Hollis; brother Wesley Hall; niece Marie Brantley; nephews Edger "Andy" Anderson and Stephen Anderson; aunt Irma Simpson; cousin Diane Simpson; a host of other relatives and friends.
