I WAS RAISED IN MARION, GRADUATED FROM PERRY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL IN 1962.  VICKI MORTON WAS ONE OF MY CLASSMATES AT JUDSON.  I AM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS AND YOU ARE ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.  MY PARENTS, THAD AND MILLIE DAVIS  AND BROTHER, THAD DAVIS, III HAVE LEFT US WITH WONDERFUL MEMORIES. Emily and family, my prayers and thoughts are with you during this sad time. I have fun memories of Sam while working with him at CVCC. I will always remeber him as a small man with a big heart.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Emily and the family. Sam was a good friend and valued and trusted colleague when we taught together at CVCC.

I am a PCHS Classmate of Sam's  I have  many fond and memories of Sam for example, buying hotdogs and cokes from his stand near the Nealy Theatre; and taking photo's of him and my classmates Claud Holifield , and Glenn Oakes and others.  He was accessible, outgoing and I considered him my good friend.  I will miss him . I  pray God will strengthen and bless Emily and his entire family circle and  his friends at this time of loss.

Had it not been for Mr. Morton and his words and encouragement I never would have finished CVCC. My heart goes out to his family may God bless you all.

Kathryn, I hated to hear about the loss of your dad, he was one of my instructors in a few classes I took at CVCC years ago.  He was a great instructor and I am sure he was a great father and will be missed by many.  Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Mr. Morton was my advisor, professor and friend at CVCC.  He was my most favorite teacher and I will never forget his words of encouragement.
Once while he was advising me, I was doubting myself about a difficult class and he told me..."It's not what you know up here (pointing to his head), It's how well you know how to get the information to go in there."
Those words of encouragement have lead me through many situations in my life.  I now realize, just like Mr. Morton told me, I just need to know how to get the information, I am not expected to know it all.
Mr. Morton was a great man and I will always be thankful that I had such a great professor.  
Kim, my prayers go out to you and your family in this sad time.  For the world has lost a great man.

I know the pain, the grief, and the feeling of helplessness can seem unbearable,we can go to God's word for comfort:Act24:15 says "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous". when Jesus  close friend Lazarus died he said "I am the resurrection and the life he that exercises faith in me ,even though he dies ,will come to life (John11:25).

Mr. Morton was my advisor and friend at CVCC. What a wonderful person. I have never forgotten the help and encouragement he gave me. May God bless his family.

Emily and Luke, My heartfelt sympathy goes to you two and your family.  It only seems like yesterday to me that we lost Randy, and now your Father.  Sam was such a good person and I know Randy really thought the world of him. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family through this very sorrowful time. May God bless and be with you through this and know that we love you very much.

I attended CVCC and Mr Morton was the best business instructor at the college. He was well respected and I know that his family and the community will miss him.

Emily, I am so sorry for your loss. You probably don't remember me but I am a 2nd cousin to Sammy.  My grandmother and Sam were brother and sister.  My grandmother was the oldest child and Sam was one of the youngest.  My parents were the age of Sam and Gladys.  Jimmy and I were the same age.  My mother, Sybil "Billie" Holifield graduated from Judson with you.
