Sally Ann Thompson Tate, a loving Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt, great Aunt and friend to many of Dothan, Alabama passed away in Columbus, Georgia on June 20, 2018.
Sally was born in Houston, Alabama on February 12, 1942 to the late Howard Thompson and Vasteen Taylor Thompson. She graduated Valedictorian of her graduating class and went on to obtain her master’s degree in accounting. Sally worked at Flowers Hospital and retired after 24 years. She loved to travel, going near and far. Sally was also a master gardener. She was Alabama State Governor of the Pilot Club in 1994. Sally was a member of Westgate Church of Christ in Dothan. With all of her travels her favorite was to the beach where she would take long walks. She loved spending time with her family, she was the rock of her family and if you met her once and met her later in life her values stayed the same. Her family considered her their “Rock”. She will be greatly missed. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Smith and Doris Lee.
She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her two sisters: Mary Sullivan of Dothan, AL and Inez (James) Cochran of Newville, AL; several loving nieces, nephews and many other friends.
A Graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Chapel of Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia 31907.
