Robert E. Lee “Bob”, 68 (11/13/52 - 10/25/21), of Newnan, GA passed peacefully last night at his home with his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Turner Lee, of 48 years, daughter and son by his side. He was the son of the late Frank and Virginia Lee of Columbus, GA.
He was a loving father of Amy Dobbins (Jonathan) and Frank Lee, a doting grandfather of Haden, Elizabeth, Catherine and Madison, great grandfather of Devin and brother to Pat Lee.
Bob had a successful career as a banker with Columbus Bank & Trust, First State Bank and Albany Bank & Trust. After Bob retired from Albany Bank & Trust, he was the owner/operator of GRN of Destin.
Bob was a diehard Braves fan and was thrilled they were going to the World Series. He also loved both UGA and Auburn football. He was a scratch golfer and never passed on an opportunity to tell about playing in a scramble with Arnold Palmer as his partner. He was a friend to many and loved keeping in touch. He and all of his wonderful stories will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 29 at Striffler-Hamby in Columbus, GA. Reverend Dr. Buddy Cooper and Reverend Cindy Autrey officiating. Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Mr. Lee can make them to Newnan First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville St. S., Newnan, GA 30263 or to a charity of choice.
