Richard E. “Rick” Turner, 74, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. A Chapel service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the Edgewood Hall Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary at 3:00PM with Reverend Matt Avera officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, May 6, 2022.
Born on November 22, 1947 in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Wade Turner and Helen McCullough Turner. Rick was married to Susan A. Smith for 52 years. Together they had two children and called the Columbus area home. He was an insurance agent for 47 years with State Farm Insurance and retired after 49 years. Rick was an avid horseman and Harley Davidson enthusiast who loved to ride every chance he got. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather to five grandchildren who held his heart in their hands.
Those left to cherish Rick’s memories are his wife, Susan S. Turner; his son and his wife, Lane and Lee Anne Turner; his daughter and her husband, Lauren and Derek Masse; five grandchildren, Kyle, Colton, Carsyn, Preston and Charlotte.
