Ouida "Nita" Moore

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- Mrs. Ouida "Nita" Moore, age 82, passed away on February 10, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Moore was born on June 12, 1928 to the late Bascom and Versie Fleming in Kinston, AL. She loved being a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and studying scripture. Nita loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a friend to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Moore, a sister and a son-in-law, Ken.

Survivors include her six children, Anne (Jim) Brooke, Lynn (Everett) Guichet, Faye Armstrong, Judy (Ted) Baskin, Patty (John) Stofer and Mickey (Tammy) Moore; grandchildren, Julie, Michael, Jennifer, Skylar, Jade, Sherry and Brandi; eight great-grandchildren, Brianna, Joshua, Jaime, Jake, Courtney, Matthew, Ryan and Dylan; two brothers, Havilond (Hazel) Fleming and Harold Fleming.
