Nancy Florence Jones Casey

Nancy Jones Casey, age 86, of Cataula, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Nancy was born on October 26, 1930, to Q.R. Jones and Gertrude White Jones. She was raised here in Columbus and was a graduate of Jordan High School. After graduation she received her B.A. from David Lipscomb University . During this time, Nancy met and married Ralph Casey, Sr. on April 19, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia at the Naval Air Station, together they had three sons. Nancy taught school for several years in Columbus including, Columbus Jr. High, Arnold Jr. High, and Hardaway High School. Shortly after receiving her Master’s Degree in Administrative Education from Georgia State University, she began a career in real estate, which spanned over 30 years at Kennon, Parker, Duncan, and Key. During her career she made many friends and won numerous awards, retiring in 2003. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ at Rose Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her four brothers, John Jones, Albert Jones, Rosser Jones, Paul Jones. Survivors include her 3 sons, Ralph F. Casey, Timothy Casey, Jeffrey J. Casey ; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
