Louise Raines Darrah Martin a loving mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend passed away on December 29, 2023 at the age of 99. She was born in Alabama to the late Nettie V. Pope Raines and Early M. Raines. Mrs. Louise attended and finished Truman and Smiths Business School and later radiology at Columbus College for dental hygiene. She worked for many years with Dr. Bass, DMD before retiring.
Mrs. Louise was Christian by faith, she was affiliated with Seale United Methodist Church and attended St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia. She was a lifetime member of DAV, a hospice volunteer, and gave of her time where needed.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter, Patsy Darrah Ritch; her son, Harold Marshall Darrah, Jr.; her grandchildren: Mikki (Jamie) Owler, Dr. Shane B. (Deanna) Darrah, Phillip “Tank” (Stephanie) Tanner, Stephen Darrah (Catherine) Tanner, Denise (Jamie) Butler, and Adam Darrah; her great-grandchildren: Ashton Moles, Taylor Owler, Tanner Owler, Isabelle Darrah, Brooks Darrah, Clayton Tanner, Shelby Tanner, Darrah Williams, Brandon Butler, Harold Tanner, and Little Quinn Roper; her great-great grandchildren: Dakota Tanner, Drew Tanner, Victoria Tanner, and Danielle Tanner; her sisters: Carolyn Sue (Mike) Corcoran and Doris Wurster; and numerous other family members and friends. Mrs. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Nettie and Early Raines; her husbands: Harold Marshall Darrah, Sr., and Jessie Martin; her beloved son, Daniel D. Darrah; and her siblings: Merle Ousley, Julia Green, and James Earl Raines.
Mrs. Louise’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her friends at Lake Harding in Hamilton, GA and to her lifelong friend Betty Tigner Owens of Columbus, GA.
A private graveside funeral service will be held at Seale United Methodist Church Cemetery, 37-49 Courthouse St., Seale, AL 36875.
