Kevin Lowell Black, age 65, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. A visitation for family and friends of Kevin will be held Friday, June 7th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Kevin was born in Covington, Kentucky on April 28th, 1959; the son of Billy Lowell and Barbara Ann Black. Kevin joined the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of service at the rank of SSG. After his separation from the Army, Kevin worked for the Wade Companies for 14 years beginning as a Senior Maintenance Technician before becoming the Plant Manager. After retiring from the Wade Companies, he spent five years as a Work Leader for U.S. National Park Service. Kevin married Young Lan Chu on April 14th, 2002 in Columbus, Georgia. Kevin will be remembered as a good man with a big heart that loved and cherished his family and was willing to do anything for them.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Barbara Ann Black; his brothers Mark Randall Black, Victor Black, and William S. Black; and his sister, Kimberly Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Young Lan Black; his daughters, Misty Bradford and Morgan Black; his sons, Taylor Black and Hugh Kwon; his grandchildren, Ryder Richards and River Richards; his sisters, Donna Gilbert, Paula (Greg) Price, and Amy (Michael) McCoy, and his brother Todd Black.
