Karen was born to the late Madeline Graves Waters and Alfred B. “Soapy” Waters on May 22, 1952 in Munich, Germany.
Karen grew up the only girl in a house full of brothers and called Columbus, Georgia home. She never met a stranger which made her a star in the hospitality industry. She retired from the Georgia Visitors Center where she greeted visitors with a bright smile and southern hometown welcome. She was a loving Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Karen loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.
She is survived by her brother, Bobby Waters of Cataula, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Donald Waters, Ricky Waters, Ronald Waters, and Sonny Waters; and her sisters, Bonnie Virga and Ann Anderson.
A family gathering will take place at a later date.
