June Thorpe Snell, age 76 resident of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday August 2st, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Funeral services are scheduled in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, in Columbus on Friday, August 5th, 2022 visitation at 10am and service at 11am with Reverend Jonathan Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Money, Jimbo Money, Jeff Gordon, Pete Stewart, Wayne Bishop and Mat Mize.
June was born April 8th, 1946 in Columbus. graduated from Jordan High in 1963, married to the love of her life Jerry Larue Snell for 43 years. June was a beloved homemaker and was very involved with her family and loved taking care of all her extended family. June loved being involved with her granddaughter and was lovingly referred to as “Mimi”.
June was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Dewey M. Thorpe and Addie Mae Kirkland Thorpe, her beloved husband Jerry Larue Snell, her loving sister Ann Thorpe Stuart, and doting brother Mitchell Thorpe. June is survived by one daughter Libby White her husband Chris White , one son Christopher Langdon Snell, one granddaughter Emma Catherine White: precious aunts, and uncle, beloved nieces’ nephews, cousins, and many friends.
