A service to celebrate Mrs. McIntosh’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA, with Reverend Donny McCoy officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 8, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
JoAnn was born August 1, 1941 in Laurel Hill, FL, daughter of the late Winston Dean and Eva Pearl Sanders Jones. She worked for Sunshine Biscuit Company and retired after thirty eight and a half years. JoAnn enjoyed every year she spent at Sunshine and formed many special friendships. She loved spending time on her front porch. Many memories were made there. JoAnn also enjoyed spending time with friends, and playing dominos. She also shared many special moments with a group of girlfriends, “The Golden Girls”. Most of all, JoAnn loved spending time with her family and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Special thanks to her hairdresser, Rodney Laney and special friend. Sue Stinson, her niece, for always being there.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby, and two sisters, Evelyn Lowery and Sherry Jones.
Survivors include her devoted children, Rhonda Powell and her husband, Chuck, Ronnie Harrison and his wife, Debbie, and Ricky Harrison; five grandchildren, Brad Powell, Amanda Browder, Lee Collins, Cory Collins, and Sydney Adams; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Burrell Jones; numerous other family members and friends.
Flowers are accepted, or you may make a donation to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Columbus Hospice in memory of JoAnn.
