Joan P. Morgan

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery with Tim Wynn, Kevin Baldwin, Butch Beach, Gary Johnson, Cecil Hadaway, and Andre Pagan serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 in the St. Elmo room at Striffler-Hamby.

Joan P. Morgan was born on August 29, 1932 in Millen, Georgia to the late Bert C. Parker and Kathryn Griner Parker. She was married to the late William A. Morgan, a retiree of Western Electric with 30 years service. Mrs. Morgan worked for 10 years as an Insurance clerk with Life of Georgia. She was a devoted member of Cascade Hill Baptist Church for 25 years where she was actively involved in Dr. Mike Stephens Sunday School Class. Mrs. Morgan also enjoyed gardening and writing. Other than her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by her sister, Beverly P. Williams and brother, Henry Perkins.

She leaves her identical triplet daughters, Reena M. Waters, Kay M. Stidham and husband Tom, and Beverly M. Ivey and husband, Bud; grandchildren: Morgan Lindsay Youngblood of Denver, Colorado, David Alan Eversman II, Thomas Ross Eversman, and Joseph Parker Eversman; great grandchildren: John Maddox Eversman, Brooklyn Grace Eversman, and Abigail Morgan Eversman; and other family and friends to cherish her loving memory.
