Jeffrey Leonard East died on November 10, 2024 at the age of 56. He was born in Phenix City, Alabama on June 11, 1968 to the late Celia Allred East and Odis Richard East. Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was married to Kimberly Grantham in May of 1991. Jeff worked for the State of Alabama in the Department of Transportation as a Road Engineer mapping roads throughout the state. When Jeff retired from the State of Alabama he loved spending time with his family and friends sharing his passion for cooking BBQ. His puppy Stormy Rain held a special place in his heart. Jeff loved Jesus and was a longtime member of Cascade Hills Church.
He leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his loving wife of 33 years, Kimberly Grantham East; his daughters: Taylor Ann Howard (Zach), and Tanner Elaine Faragone (Ryan); his five grandchildren: Asher, Bowen, Cooper, Beckett, and Archie Howard and baby girl Faragone due in April of 2025; his brother, Richard East (Susan). Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Celia Allred East and Odis Richard East.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Immediately following the service everyone is invited to Celebrate Jeff’s Life at Gran’s home on Brittany Court, Columbus, Georgia 31909. As Jeff was an avid Alabama Fan, please honor Jeff by wearing your favorite Alabama Attire to the service. In keeping with Jeff’s laid-back style, we invite guests to dress casually and comfortably.
