SGM (Ret) Isaac S. Evans

A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. Family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the Wildwood Room at Striffler-Hamby. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery with Military Honors.

Isaac Stanley Evans was born on March 26, 1922 in Kemper County, Mississippi to the late Eva Rea Evans and William Nathan Evans. He married Catherine L. Jackson on September 30, 1946 and they were married for 69 years. Isaac served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Vietnam Era, retiring with over 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Catherine L. Evans; sons, Stanley Evans and his wife Phyllis, William “Bill” Evans and his wife Cathy; grandchildren: Wendy Sirmons and her husband Lloyd, Anna Teague and her husband Jonathan, Jennifer Elliott and her husband Matt, Tommy Evans and his wife Kerry; seven great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.

The Evans family would like to acknowledge and send a grateful Thank You to the Staff of Gentiva Hospice and Savannah Grand for their kindness and loving care given to them during this difficult time.
