Ilene was born on May 19, 1927 in Early County, GA. to the late Robert Lee Lewis and Laura Mischer Lewis. Ilene began working for Sno-White Laundry when she was 16 years old and fully retired from Sno-White as their bookkeeper when she was 77. Ilene’s family was so very dear to her, as were her many special friends, and she was loved by all who knew her and she loved them all. Her most cherished relationship was the one she had with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a long time member of Schomburg Road Baptist Church and she studied her Bible every single day. Ilene had much love and compassion for all animals and especially loved her dogs she had throughout her lifetime.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Jolene Macon Herczeg and Joseph N. Macon, Jr., and a grandson, Stevie Herczeg.
“Nana” was survived by her daughter-in-law, Debby Camp Macon, and grandchildren: Chris Brennan (Vicki); Katie Herczeg (Barry); Kelli McManus (Chad); Andy Rolling (Devin); Seth Rolling (Kinsey). Her great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ruby, Sam, Carson, Anna, Derek, Bret, Avery, Carter, Davis, Elin, Rett, Parker, Mae, Abe, Charlie, and Ellie. She was also survived by a very special great-niece, Brenda Hinson.
