Reverend Harold (Gene) Forehand (MSG) Ret, passed away October 3, 2022 at the age of 91. Services will be held at 11:00 am, October 7, 2022 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Rd Columbus, GA followed by full military honors with an interment at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will welcome guest Thursday October 6, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation. Reverend Lacy and Reverend French to officiate.
Gene was born in Reynoldsville, Illinois, August 10, 1931. He entered the U.S. Army in 1948 and served his country for 20 years before retiring at Ft. Benning in 1968 as a Master Sergeant. He was a decorated veteran receiving the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, three Campaign Stars for tours in Korea and Vietnam and the National Defense Medal.
After retiring from the military he was employed by Burnham Service Corporation for 22 years in mid management.
Gene finished his working career at North Highland Assembly of God as senior adult and care pastor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Loujetter, two sons Michael (Sandi) of Inverness, Florida and Stephen (Patty) of Columbus, Georgia. Seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two sisters Wilma Lindsey and Sharon Morris (Phillip) of Coden, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by three brothers Ernie (Gerry) Forehand of Thebes, Illinois, Rev. Robert (Myrtice) Forehand of Ninety Six, South Carolina, Daryl (Mary) Forehand of McClure, Illinois and a sister Lucille McCrite of Columbus, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to the Missions Department of North Highland Assembly of God.
