George Steven "Steve" Taylor

January 28, 1959 – May 23, 20015

George Steven Taylor, age 56, resident of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 peacefully with his family by his side. Funeral services are scheduled on Wednesday May 27, 2015, 2:00pm in the Chapel at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Ga. The family will receive family and friends Tuesday May 26, 2015 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the funeral home. Steve’s final resting place will be Parkhill Cemetery.

Steve is the son of Geraldine Jones Taylor and the late George Hilery Taylor. He was born January 28, 1959 in Columbus, Ga.

Steve was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He was a very well educated man and had many accomplishments to celebrate in his lifetime. Steve attended University of Georgia and Columbus State University earning a bachelor degree in Economics. He worked in various executive positions in the insurance industry for over 20 years. He last served as Chief Financial Officer. After years of the corporate world Steve decided to leave the corporate life behind and become an entrepreneur and private investor. Steve is the current owner of multiple Zaxby’s Franchisees and a large rental portfolio.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Hilery Taylor. Steve is survived by his mother, Gere Taylor; sister Debbie Harris (Jim); brother, Todd Taylor; nephew Taylor Harris; grandmother Gladys Plant.
