Gary Bishop, age 66 of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 12, 1957 in Columbus, Georgia, he was the son of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Cardell) Bishop.
He enjoyed drag racing since teenager, fishing and loved his grandkids and family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Michele (Rivers) Bishop; his loving children, Christopher Wade (Jennylyn) Rivers, Gary Wayne Jr. (Jessica) Bishop; his loving siblings, Tony Bishop Sr., David Bishop and Sherri (Mike) Hearn; and his loving grandchildren, Hudson Bishop, Kye Bishop, Jadzia Rivers; and Zachary Rivers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00PM. Rev. Mike Reeves will be officiating. Family will visit with friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 2:00PM. Please wear your favorite racing shirt to honor Gary's love of racing.
