Elizabeth W. (Kirkland) Bishop, age 95, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA.
Elizabeth was born March 31, 1926 in Abbeville, Alabama; the daughter of Silas Kirkland and Linnie (Crowley) Kirkland. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Elizabeth was Christian by faith, she was a Life Long Member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She instilled her love of the Lord in her family by being an example of God’s Love for others. Elizabeth was a great cook, her kitchen was always open and welcoming to family and friends. She loved to share great stories, and jokes as well as a sense of humor with those she loved and adored. Elizabeth’s memory will always be cherished by those she loved.
Elizabeth is preced in death by: her parents, Silas and Linnie Kirkland,a son, Dennie J. Bishop Jr.; two brothers, John Willard Kirkland, Hubert Kirkland; two sisters, Lucy Floyd Kirkland, Addie Mae Thorpe.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Wayne, Raymond Lynn (Doris) Bishop; her grandchildren, Dennie J. (Tisha) Bishop III, Christopher (Suzanne) Bishop, Ben (Nikki) Bishop, Mandy (Ray) Bishop Chapman , Robert Wayne Bishop Jr.; her great grandchildren, Nick Bishop, Samantha Bishop, Christian Bishop, Collin Bishop, Elly Chapman, Jack Bishop, Grace Bishop, Mason Bishop, Avery Bishop; two sisters, Betty Allen, Elma Ruth Money; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and their beautiful families.
