Dorothy Jean Phillips

Dorothy Jean Phillips, 87, of Valley, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on September 27, 2023. A service will be held at Main Post Cemetery, 64-66 Custer Road, Columbus, Georgia 31905, on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 am.

Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed fishing and gardening. She could take the produce she grew and cook any meal, and it was guaranteed to be delicious. Dorothy’s home was known to be spotless as she practiced meticulous housekeeping. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and occasional trips to the casino. Dorothy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her Children, Janioe Cox (Glynn), Pamala Phillips (Mark McNeil), James Phillips (Judy), Kimberly Phillips, and Kenneth Phillips (Stephanie); Grandchildren, Katrina Thompson, Kelly Billingslea, Ashley Phillips, Mikayla Phillips, and Brandy Phillips; and several Great-Grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her Husband, 1st Sgt. James E. Phillips; and Siblings, Evelyn Smith, Joyce Lee, and Larry Wilson.
