Donald Jones

Ret. Paramedic Donald “Donnie” Richard Jones was born December 22, 1952 in Southern Pines, NC. Donnie passed peacefully August 5, 2020. Donnie was a paramedic with the City of Columbus for 23 years and was owner of Lifestar Ambulance Service, Liberty Auto Sales and A-Portable Sign Company.

Donnie leaves behind a wife, Vicky, of 49 years; daughter, Kerri (Carl) Dunn; son, Robby (Karel) Jones; seven grandchildren, Kali Jones, Crystal Jones, Logan Sullivan (Alicia), Hannah Jones, Melissa Jones, Kinsleigh Dunn, and Kaydence Dunn; two great-grandchildren, Oakley Sullivan and Colby Adams; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Jones and Rebekah Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Jones; brothers, T.R. Jones, Ret. Fire Marshal David Jones, Ronnie Jones; and a sister, Karen “Shug” Jones.

Graveside services will be held August 11, 2020 at 11:00am at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family following at Kerri’s home.

In lieu of flowers, and per Donnie’s request, we kindly ask monetary donations to be made payable to Kerri Dunn which will be deposited for Donnie’s grand and great-grandchildren. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 9324, Columbus, Ga. 31908.
