A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church and will be followed by a reception to visit with the family.
Diane was born on December 16, 1943 in Carrolton, Georgia to Jean McFadgen Staples and Earl Gordon Staples. Diane was married to the late Barschall Andrews II for 46 years and together they called Columbus home. She was Christian by faith and attended First Presbyterian Church. Diane took great pleasure in being with her family and raising her daughter, Bailey. She loved to be around people, to entertain, and was always the life of the party. Diane was quick-witted and jovial, with a sense of humor that left those around her laughing often. She loved to travel with her family, listen and dance to music, and was an avid reader. Many memories were made at her “Fin For Yourself” condo in Seagrove Beach, Florida and she loved to share this special place with others. “Lady Di” will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter Bailey Torbert (Ben), her grandchildren Marla and Wilson; and numerous other family members. Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Barschall; her parents, Jean and Earl Staples; her sister Barry Staples; and her brother Gordon Staples.
The family requests that any donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Columbus Hospice. They would like to express a deep gratitude to Cecelia Thomley and Sheila McComas for their dedicated and loving service. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.shcolumbus.com with the Andrews family.
