Dennis Lee Dyer

Dennis Lee Dyer, 70, of Fortson, GA, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Woodland Health Care Center in Midway, GA. Dennis was born December 4, 1944 in Cookville, TN, to his late parents Dewey and Clara Meadows Dyer. He graduated from Jordan High School and was a Navy Veteran. Dennis had a passion for his family and loved to write his own songs and sing Elvis favorites, doing wood work, and as a young man was body builder, placing second in a Mr. Columbus contest.

The family will receive guests Friday, February 6, 2015 6:00-8:00 PM in the Wynnton Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Dennis Life will be Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 10:00 AM in The Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, followed by interment at Parkhill Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Williams Officiating.

Along with his father, Dennis is preceded in death by the father he knew, William Cox, and his mother, Clara Cox. He is survived by his sister Patricia Johnson of Fortson, GA; and his brother Ricky (Norma) Cox of Smiths Station, AL; his daughter Abigail Locklar; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
