Danny Ray Singletary of Columbus, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the age of 66. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
Danny was born November 3, 1953 to the late Thomas Jefferson Singletary and the late Peggy June Singletary.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pat Leatherwood-Singletary, and three children: his daughter, Carmen Reynolds, her husband, Tony, and their three children, Kathryn, Meagan, and Parker; his son, Eric Singletary, wife, Lucy, and three children, Kayla, Payton, and Carter; his daughter, Kelia McRae (Scotty), and her son, Tyler McFarlin. He is also survived by four siblings, Mike Singletary (Debi), Grady Singletary (Phillis), Terry Singletary (Cindy), and Patsy Perry (John), and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Roney.
Danny had many interests in life. He loved golf, racing motorcycles, playing softball with his brothers, watching college football and debating how the season would turn out. In his youth, he not only played football, he showed great potential to play college football until he was badly injured. Although sports seemed to dominate his life, Danny still found time to teach himself to play the guitar, write songs, and make music a vital part of his life. He also had a passion for flat track motorcycle racing, and in the last weeks of his life, wished he could do it one more time. He was an avid Alabama football fan. "Roll Tide"
