Clora came to know the Lord at an early age and became a longstanding member of Longstreet Baptist Church. Clora was united in Holy Matrimony with Dock Williams who passed away in 1997. She retired from Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in the late 1980’s. Clora loved cooking for family and family gatherings. She enjoyed being in her yard working with her potted plants and keeping her yard pristine.
Clora was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Bessie Goodwin; two sisters, Sallie Starr and Alma Goodwin; five brothers: Bennie Goodwin, Ozie Goodwin, Homer Goodwin, Lonnie Goodwin, Jr. and Henry Goodwin; and her only daughter, Bonnie Goodwin Veasley.
Clora leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Jefferson “Tot” Goodwin (Colleen) of Mill Spring, NC; two sisters: Nellie Senior of Columbus, GA and Corine Hill of Copperas Cove, TX; four sisters-in-law: Zola Goodwin of Ellerslie, GA, Mahalia Goodwin of Columbus, GA, Lula Bell Goodwin of Columbus, GA, and Velmon Godfried of Newnan, GA; a very special nephew Lewis Starr and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Clora’s presence will be missed in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Longstreet Baptist Church, Cataula, GA with burial services to follow in the church cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2022 in the St. Elmo Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
