She was born in Little Rapids, Wisconsin in January of 1935 to the late Florence and Clarence Chopin. Clareen was married to William “Bill” Shackelford in June of 1958, celebrating 64 years of marriage this past June. Clareen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and spending time going to the beach, dancing with her husband, reading a good book and being the best wife, mom, and grandmother the world could ever ask for. Clareen was a faithful Christian woman who instilled the value of her faith on to her children and grandchildren. She had a giving and compassionate soul who shared her gifts with those around her. Clareen was a wonderful mom who raised a special needs son and did it with patience and grace. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and especially loved her.
Clareen is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Shackelford; her son, Steven Shackelford; her daughters: Jolyce Lumpkin and Elizabeth Baker; her beloved grandchildren: Lindley Stone, Lorin Baker and Kari Shackelford; and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Clarence Chopin; her son, Robert Shackelford; and sister, Marilyn Brauer.
