Charles Edward Batts Sr.

Charles Edward Batts, Sr. 85, of Columbus, GA passed away November 14, 2015. He was born March 16, 1930 in Shorter, AL, to his late parents Bryant Lee and Juanita Batts. Charles was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church, Columbus, GA, and was a mechanic by trade. He was a father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family.

The family will receive guests for visitation Thursday, November 19, 2015 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Linwood Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be Friday, November 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Edgewood Hall of Strifffler-Hamby with Reverend Keith Parks officiating, followed by a reception in The Mill Room.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Billie Salter Batts of Columbus, GA; son Charles Edward Batts, Jr of Phenix City, AL; and sisters, Grace Hill and Ruth Mason. He is Survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Dwight) Mixon of Phenix City, AL; three sons, Carlton Lee (Bonnie) Batts Sr. of Phenix City, AL, Michael Dean Batts of Americus, GA; and Darryl Truesdall of West Columbia, SC; brother, Thomas(Carolyn) Batts of Panama City Beach, FL; four sisters, Mary (Roy) Kelly of Phenix City, AL, Martha (Bim) House of Columbus, GA, Lynda Cottom of Phenix City, AL, and Gail (Tommy) Henderson of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren, Christy Cambron, Anna Batts, Brandy Paul, Carlton Lee Batts, Jr., Bryant Lee Batts, Victoria C. Batts, and Anthony Mixon; several great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
