A reception to honor Carolyn will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA, followed by a graveside service beginning at 2:00 pm in Riverdale Cemetery with Reverend Dennis Lacy officiating.
Carolyn was born in San Antonio, TX on December 22, 1964, daughter of Marie Es Marwitz (Norman) of Columbus and the late Charles Ray Chalkley. Graduate of Columbus Christian Academy, American Sign Language Certified, DAR member, avid family historian, photographer, and volunteered in her community alongside her boys, Alexander and Jonathan. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, and mother who will always be loved and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret E. Saunders, J.D. Saunders, Sr., Ralph Chalkley, and M. Louise Thompson Chalkley and an uncle, John D. Saunders, Jr. and aunt, Betty Jean White.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Petty Officer 1st Class (USN) Jeremy Kevin Hill (Christina) of San Diego, CA, Alexander Ray Hill of Columbus and Jonathan Tyler Hill of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, her mother, Marie Es Marwitz (Norman) of Columbus, siblings, T. Diane Hyde of Cataula, GA, Kristin Marie Faulk (Ronnie) Southport, FL, and Charles Ray Chalkley, Jr. (Bridgett) of Fortson, GA, one grandson, Jackson Travor Hill, her second mom, Sieglinde (Ziggy) Wittek Chalkley, nieces and nephews, Anthony Brad Faulk, Aubrey Michelle Faulk, Trace Hayden Ray Chalkley, Georgia Lynn Chalkley, and Bruce Liam Chalkley. Other family members include Tina Day and Sarah Brooks.
