Brenda Joyce Cowan Klobe

Brenda Joyce Cowan Klobe, 66, passed away on May 15, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Klobe was born August 9, 1946, in Ft. Benning, GA to the late Paul Hayes and Irene Stanford Hayes. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she was also the church pianist. Mrs. Klobe adored playing the piano and also played at Ft. Benning Regimental Chapel. She was a gracious hostess and loved cooking. Mrs. Klobe had even written a cookbook with a friend, “Cooking Around the World and Around the Corner.” Most of all, Mrs. Klobe cherished her family and spending time with them.

Survivors include her husband, David H. Klobe of Columbus; two sons, John R. Cowan, Jr. and his wife, Tena of Hurtsboro, Al and Bryan Klobe and his wife, Dena of Newville, AL; four grandchildren, Venda and Julianna Cowan and Rachel and Hannah Klobe; two brothers, Hubert Hayes and his wife, Helen of Columbus, GA and Kenneth Hayes and his wife, Linda of Pittsview, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
