Annie Louise Antley, age 93, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Louise was born in Dothan, Alabama, on March 27, 1925; she is the daughter of Henry Levi Kirkland and Leila Virginia Meadows Kirkland.
She was raised in Dothan and graduated from Dothan High School. Louise and Reuben met at the USO club here in Columbus, and were married on March 23, 1947. She loved music, big band to old country and dancing. Being members of the VFW and American Legion gave them the opportunity to enjoy both. Louise was an amazing seamstress; sewing, mending and making various items that benefited the lives of both family and others. She also taught those skills to others. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. Louise worked in the Jewelry Department of J.C. Penney both here in Columbus and in Florida.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Reuben F. Antley, Sr.; father Henry L. Kirkland and mother Leila Kirkland and two siblings.
Louise is survived by; daughter Gayle A. Alligood; son-in-law Ronnie H. Alligood; and son Reuben F. Antley, Jr.; granddaughter Priscilla (Allen) Blythe and grandson Matthew D. Alligood and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Louise will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
