COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Zelma Bouknight Prim, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a private family burial at 12:30 p.m. in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Irmo. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Prim died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Born in Irmo, she was a daughter of the late Heber Tillman Bouknight and Julia Maude Bouknight. Mrs. Prim attended Irmo schools and the University of South Carolina. She was co-director of Kaplan Educational Centers in Columbia and Augusta, Ga., until her retirement. Mrs. Prim served as president of the P.T.A., was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher, member of Woman’s Club of Columbia and several book clubs and bridge clubs. She was a former member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and current member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are her children, Harry S. Prim, III (Cheryl), Michele Prim Osenga, Melinda Prim all of Columbia; and four grandchildren, Alan and Austin Osenga of Charlotte, David and Aaron Prim of Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry S. Prim, Jr. and seven brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
