COLUMBIA Funeral services for Willie Claytor Campbell, 93, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Campbell was born December 10, 1920 in Congaree, S.C., and passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014. He was the son of the late Willie Irvin Campbell and Nezzie Koon Campbell Tidwell. Mr. Campbell was a civil service employee for the Department of Army, retiring in 1977 after 32 years of service. Claytor was a World War II veteran serving in the European Theatre and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hartwell, Ga. He was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans and Past Commander of American Legion Post #86. Surviving are his daughter, Judith Kyzer (Murray); grandsons, Daniel Claytor Crider and David Gregory Crider (Eryka); great-granddaughter, Addisyn Crider all of Lexington; daughter, Carol Spearman (Larry); grandsons, Eric Spearman, Jared Spearman all of Chapin; wife, Constance Lorick Campbell and sons, Eddie and Buddy Bloom. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, Bill Tidwell, and the mother of his children, Margaret Weir Campbell. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Heritage at Lowman Home.
