COLUMBIA - A celebration of life for William “Jason” Cooper, 55, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Jason passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Born at Fort Jackson, S.C., he was the son of Ransom Cooper, Jr. and Jean Prescott Blackwell. A 1988 graduate of Lower Richland High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and received his Associates Degree while serving his country. Jason had a love for the Clemson Tigers and NASCAR.
Surviving are his father, Ransom Cooper, Jr. of Lexington, S.C.; mother, Jean Blackwell of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Joel Cooper (Antonia) of Gilbert; sister, Rachel Cooper of Columbia, S.C.; and three nieces, Shelby Cooper, Anna Reese Cooper Rankin, Camden Cooper; stepsiblings, John Katsos (Cricket), Christina Reynolds, Charlotte Robertson (Tommy) and Scott Katsos (Leigh) and a host of family and friends.
