Susan Isabel Andrade

Born on November 25, 1951 in Natick, Massachusetts, Susan was a graduate of Framingham State. For over 30 years, she fulfilled her childhood dream of teaching children and teenagers in the Sandwich and Plymouth public school systems in Massachusetts. Beyond her love of teaching, Susan enjoyed the company of friends and family, especially hosting dinners. Susan’s favorite pastimes included walking, reading, traveling, and baking. Susan was a warm, caring and nurturing soul who enjoyed surprising her loved ones with gifts and baked goods, especially her famous chocolate-chip, M&M, peanut butter cookies!

She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Thomas Andrade. She will be dearly missed by her two sons, James and his wife, Kim, of San Diego, CA, and Matthew and his wife, Kristin, of Piedmont, S.C. Susan’s grandchildren a.k.a. Nana’s Christmas Cookie Crew: Lana Grace (9), Emma Faith (4), Ethan Thomas (3) and Olivia Rowe (5 mos.) will miss their loving and affectionate ‘Nana.’ Susan is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth and Evelyn Zicko of Dennis, MA, Martha and her husband, Christopher Manning, of Dennis, MA and Patricia and her husband, Jack Cross, of Cary, N.C.

Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel in Columbia. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in St. John Neumann Catholic Church with the burial at 1:00 p.m. in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
