Mrs. Crumpton died Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Born on July 18, 1925 in Summerville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Sestilio Ettore Alberto Morelli of Leghorn (Livorno), Italy and the late Ellen Jones Morelli of Summerville, SC. She was a graduate of Summerville High School. After 31 years of service, she retired as Supervisor, Title Section DMV, of the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation in Columbia, SC.
In 1981, she joined First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and was a member for 40 years. She was an active member of the Happy Coed Sunday School Class which merged with Joy of Living Sunday School Class. Mrs. Crumpton served in the Senior Adult Oasis, Women’s Missionary Union, Women’s Evangelism Conferences, P & L Luncheon Ministries, as a FBC Church Greeter, FBC Church Flower Committee and was president of Ann Pearce Prayer Group for 11 years.
Surviving are her children, Stella W. Donelan and Ellen W. Boylston (Don), both of Columbia, SC; brother, Louis J. Morelli of Summerville, SC; daughter-in-law, Betty H. Walters of Chapin, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Billy Earl Crumpton; her first husband, Jack Lee Walters, Sr.; son, Jack Lee Walters, Jr.; half sisters, Sarah Rea Kinsey Aiken and Leila Alavan Kinsey McElvaney; and half brother, Allen Boyd Kinsey.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the physicians and staff at Lexington Medical Center Carroll Campbell Place and Compassionate Care Hospice for their professional care. A very special thanks to the dedicated private sitters, nurses, and certified nursing assistants at Carroll Campbell Place and Wildewood Downs, who gave their love and compassion helping our Mother.
