Sarah Rebecca Threatt

A memorial service for Sarah Boyd Threatt, 94, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Washington Street United Methodist Church, 1401 Washington Street, Columbia, SC 29201. The memorial service will be officiated by Reverend Becky Shirley. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

Mrs. Threatt, wife of the late Ned Leon Threatt, died Thursday, January 12, 2023. Born in New Brookland, SC, she was a daughter of the late McRoss Hudson Boyd, and Thelma Causey Boyd. She was a graduate of Winthrop College, and was a lifelong, active member of Washington Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Jane Threatt Luckstone (Thomas P.) of Saint Simons Island, GA, Margaret Threatt Black of Columbia, SC; son, Ned Leon Threatt, Jr. (Holly Rush) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Dr. Jaclyn Ann Luckstone, Kathryn Boyd Luckstone, Jack Holt Black, III, Dr. George Boyd Black (Emily Davis); great-grandchildren, Eliza Margaret Black, and Henry Baird Black.

Mrs. Threatt was preceded in death by her brother, McRoss Hudson Boyd, Jr., and sister, Esther Boyd Harmon.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sarah's honor to Washington Street United Methodist Church, 1401 Washington Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
