Robert Lester Beck

Mr. Beck died Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was a son of Earl Philip Beck, Sr. and Geneva Barnhill Beck. He was a 1973 graduate of Lower Richland High School and attended Midlands Technical College. Robert worked as a Gas Journeyman for SCANA for over 30 years until he retired. He attended St. Paul’s Baptist Church. He loved hosting family and friends at his home, gardening, traveling, and tattoos. Robert was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Irby Beck of Columbia, SC; sons, Robert Wesley Beck of Hilton Head, SC, Melron Kelly (Fern) and Leon Hardy (Dominique) both of Columbia, SC; daughter, Kim Green (Tecko) of Orange Park, FL; four grandchildren; brothers, Earl Philip Beck, Jr. (Debra) of Goose Creek, SC, Alan Beck (Ellen) of Crosby, TX and Guy Beck (Wanda) of Eastover, SC; and sisters, Cecilia Coble (Lance) of Commerce, GA and Bonnie Beck (Andrea) of Lexington, SC.
