Mary Jo Dear, 57, of Columbia South Carolina left this earth on November 26th 2023 due to leukemia, surrounded by family and friends.
Mary Jo was born December 9th, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Bill and Ann Bauman who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, David Dear, her daughter Kristina Dear, her Grandson John Riley Harrison III, her sisters Margaret Bauman and Sara Whorton as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and her cats Willie and Ziggy.
Mary Jo excelled in several careers, most recently with USAA Bank where she was recognized for her leadership and professionalism. She made friends easily and cared deeply about family, welcoming and including everyone. She loved to plan and participate in social activities, was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and in recent years became obsessed with all things Disney: movies, parks and especially cruises.
The family is planning a private ceremony and asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to leukemia research or an animal shelter of your choosing.
