LEXINGTON A funeral service for Judith “Judy” Gail Hargis, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Hargis died Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Thera Butler Hughes. She previously worked as a teller with S.C.A.R.N.G. Credit Union. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was an avid gardener. In her younger years, she raced dirt bikes.
Surviving are her son, James Clay Hargis (Susan) of Columbia; daughters, Pamela Modica (Michael) of West Columbia, Belinda Roberts (Scott Smith) of Lexington, Deborah Stanley (Gary) of Columbia; grandchildren, Joshua Sanford, Michael Peters, Brett Roberts, Kasey Buntin, Kelsey Hargis Hendrix, Travis Schuler, Gage Roberts, Nathan Smith, Haley Stanley, Anthony Stanley; great-grandchildren, Lillian Sanford, Joshua Sanford Jr., Hunter Hendrix, Mason Hendrix, Caleb Peters, Lillanne Oriday, Melanie Stanley, Nataleigh Stanley, Valarie Stanley. She was predeceased by her husband, James William Hargis and a brother, Kenneth Hughes.
The family wishes to thank Carolina Gardens of Lexington and Agape Hospice House for their special love and care of Mrs. Hargis.
