Keith’s life was transformed on a sunny day in May 1977 when he first made the acquaintance of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Darth Vader.
From that day onward, every new “Star Wars” enterprise was a major occurrence in his life. This included a baffling array of video games, animated series such as “The Clone Wars,” documentaries, Lego “Star Wars” shorts, story and comic books.
Among “Star Wars” fanatics, there cannot be too much information on, for instance, the drooling monster Jabba the Hutt or Sarlaccs, the terrifying tentacle creatures in “Return of the Jedi.”
Keith, who just turned 51, was too ill to see the recent movie about Han Solo’s early career and this was a source of intense sorrow to him.
He valiantly battled brain cancer for 15 years and ironically, died of heart trouble.
He is survived by his loving mother, Julia Tribble of Pelion, and his uncle, Scott Cain of Columbia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
As Yoda once said, “Soon will I rest, yes, forever sleep. Earned it I have.”
Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at www.dunbarfunerals.com.
