James Lee Waddell

A funeral service for James Lee Waddell, 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Shandon United Methodist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Lee passed away on Friday, January 21, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC on March 25th, 1954, he was a son of the late Bill Waddell and Marjorie Waddell. He graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1972 and from University of South Carolina in 1977, where he received his BA in Business and Masters in Computer Science. He retired from SCANA.

Lee loved his family, friends, NASCAR events, boating, and working on his 1971 Corvette. He was an avid water skier and loved spending time on Lake Murray.

Surviving are his son, James Ryan Waddell of Greenville, SC; daughter, Leanne Waddell Patrick (Ken Kaminer) of Lexington SC; grandchildren, Riley Patrick, Logan Patrick, and Katie Grace Kaminer; brother, Woodrow Waddell (Lisa Waddell); and several nieces and nephews.
