Erma Lucille Hixon Potts, age 90, of Columbia, SC died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at her home in Columbia. Mrs. Potts was born December 31, 1931 in Dana, IN to the late Samuel Carl Hixon and Fern Lautenschlager Hixon. She was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, where she met her husband, the late Rev. George Raymond Potts. Erma was a lifelong resident of Warsaw, IL and worked for many years as a secretary for the Warsaw High School Superintendents Office before relocating to South Carolina. Mrs. Potts was a devout Christian and would share her love for Jesus Christ to everyone with whom she came into contact. “May her memory be eternal.”

Surviving are her daughters, Carol Schreck Bartman, MaryAnn Schreck, Jacqueline Protsman Mohr; sons, Roy Protsman, Michael Protsman, William Protsman and William Lambert; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sister, Betty Hixon Brewington. She was preceded in death by husband, George Raymond Potts; infant son, Raymond Gene Potts and son, Christopher Lambert.
A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
